In the heart of Italy we are growing Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes at an avarage altitude of 500 meters (500 yards) above sea level, on the east side of the Orcia river, that offers optimal conditions, due to a very specific and mild micro clima.
The love for our farm, the passion for wine making and the intensive care for our olive groves is not only visible in any corner, but even sentible to the last drop.

At the end of each years’ efforts we are proud to present the following products:
- The “Arcere”, our “battle ship”, a high class Orcia red wine created with a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Prior its period in the bottle it was aged for 6 month in medium toasted oak wood barrels.
- Perla Rossa Sangiovese, in purezza 100% di ottima qualità invecchiato per 1 anno in barriques invecchiato in bottiglia per almeno 4 mesi.
The “Giallo”, made out of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in steel tanks for 12 months and then almost 3 months in the bottle.

Poggio al vento produces also a good spirit called "grappa" obtained with the destillation of the grape skins.
Once the grapes were croped and the wine tanks and barrels got filled, in the early November days, it is finally time to harvest our olive groves. After each day of picking the olives carefully by hand, we bring the selection of our varieties “Frantoio”, “Leccino”, “Moraiolo” and “Pendolino” to the old oil mills of Castiglione d’Orcia, where our extra vergin olive oil gets cold pressed. The best “Frantoio” olives end up as our special selection oil.
Not that we don’t have enough to do, but more out of passion we raise some bees. They thank us for our care every year in July with their excellent flower honey, conserving their and our efforts and the beauty of this landstrip.
